Round 3 of the Eir All Ireland U16A Shield Championship Antrim v Waterford

Well done to our U16A girls in Round 3 of the Eir All Ireland Shield Championship . After 2 wins the girls faced the tough battle of top of the table clash with Antrim. Lead out by Captain’s Niamh McGrath St Anne’s and Jodie Whelan DLS , Antrim took the lead early after two mins , it was Antrim 0:02 Wat 0:00.

The Deise ladies settled in and got the score board going Antrim 0:03 Waterford 0:01 (15 mins). Three unanswered scores from Waterford then Antrim got a point just before half time to see a half time score of 4 points a piece. Waterford came out very strong after the second half with a goal , Antrim responded with a point . Wat 1:04 Antrim 0:05 next a goal from Antrim 41 mins on the clock. There was nothing between the teams and Waterford lead 1:07 to 1:05 with 5 mins left. Antrim rallied back two points to leave it all square at 1:07 each. Well done to both teams . Next up is Derry in two weeks time and these fantastic girls have now qualified for the U16A Shield All Ireland Final . Top of the table girls
